- University of Florida: D.V.M. Veterinary Medicine
Veterinary Medicine Expertise
Growing up in Maryland, Dr. Deming was surrounded by a variety of animals including cats, snakes, lizards, a parakeet, and even a rat. She couldn't help them when they were sick, so in the sixth grade, she decided to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Deming received her veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 2001. Following school, she completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at a large referral hospital in New Jersey. During that time, she discovered her attraction to emergency medicine.
Related Veterinary Work
In her years of practice, Dr. Deming has worked in several capacities. She has spent most of her time working at night and on the weekends at an emergency hospital, but has also enjoyed providing relief (locum) services for small one-doctor practices. She has supervised interns at a large multi-disciplinary institution and has most recently established and managed a new emergency department at a growing hospital.
A Passion for Helping Animals
Dr. Deming has a particular interest in trauma, surgery, cardiology, and feline medicine. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and loves to be available at odd hours to help people and their pets when something unexpected happens.
